Inspired Verse….

Some wrapped in self-regard or greed,
Have little time to stay,
To hearken to the urgent need
Of those met on their way.

Whilst others with true loving care
Discover if they can
Perchance another’s burden share
Spare time for fellow man.

So oft our Lord Himself was stirred
By someone’s urgent plea
To heal, to speak the living word
Of truth that sets men free.

The ‘Quisling’ Zachaeus through he
Was scorned by other folk,
He felt impelled our Lord to see
To hear the words He spoke.

At once Christ stayed His passing through,
And called him to His side
This evening I will stay with you
With you I will abide.

Bethesda’s healing waters near
Lay one with hopes and fears.
Our Saviour turned aside to hear
And heal, the suffering years.

Even in the midst of pain
On that accursed tree
His prayers would our salvation gain
“Forgive them” was His plea.

Grant, whilst upon this earthly road
I heed another’s cry
Spare time to stay and ease their load
And not pass them by.
