In 1993, the far sighted decision was taken to convert 500 tons of Russian weapons into uranium fuel for American nuclear power plants. When the process is finished in 2013, the equivalent of twenty thousand Soviet missiles will have been redirected to warm and light the very same homes they were created to destroy. Disarmament of any kind always reaps a harvest of righteousness!

Time magazine revealed recently that although the war in Vietnam ended 40 years ago, nearly one hundred and five thousand people have been killed or injured by land mines after the apparent end of hostilities. The conflict had finished but the damage was still going on. The spiritual lesson is obvious. Personal conflicts often leave incendiary devices in their wake.
