Just A Minute….

Letters to the Editor are a popular feature in our national and local press.
Some years ago the Times newspaper asked its readers to answer this question:
‘What is wrong with the World?’  It provoked a flood of letters giving all kinds of reasons why.
If that same question was put to us today, no doubt we would all have a different answer.

However, one man came up with the winning reply. It wasn’t a letter running into endless pages.
In just one sentence G. K. Chesterton wrote: Dear Sir, In reply to your question, what’s
wrong with the World, the answer is, I AM. War, famine, the rising crime rate, disease,
are only symptons of something more sinister.
That wining reply had the answer in a nutshell. To put the World right we must start with ourselves.

Let’s begin by taking up God’s offer of forgiveness for our sins.
Follow that up by a positive reponse to God’s invitation to become part of His family.
Let’s make the World a better place, by allowing God room in our lives.
